Day by day

  1. Day 1Arrival in Cairo

    Met inside the terminal and driven to your hotel.

  2. Day 2Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx · Saqqara and Memphis

    The Great Pyramid, the Valley Temple and the Sphinx. The Step Pyramid of Djoser and the colossus of Ramses II.

  3. Day 3Drive to Alexandria · Alexandria · Back to Cairo

    Three hours north to the Mediterranean. The Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa, Pompey's Pillar, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Citadel of Qaitbay. Drive back to your hotel in Cairo.

  4. Day 4Fly to Aswan · High Dam and Philae · Felucca sail · Board your Nile cruise

    An early flight south. The Aswan High Dam, then a boat to the Temple of Isis on Philae. A traditional sailboat around Elephantine Island. Cabin, lunch and dinner on board.

  5. Day 5Kom Ombo and Edfu

    Sailing north, with the double temple at Kom Ombo and the Temple of Horus at Edfu.

  6. Day 6Karnak and Luxor Temple

    The great Hypostyle Hall at Karnak, then Luxor Temple.

  7. Day 7Disembark · Luxor West Bank · Drive to Hurghada

    Leave the ship after breakfast. The Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Four hours across the desert to the Red Sea.

  8. Day 8Free day on the Red Sea

    Beach, snorkelling or diving, with meals at your hotel.

    Beach, snorkelling or diving, with meals at your hotel.

  10. Day 10Fly to Cairo · Grand Egyptian Museum · Coptic Cairo

    A morning flight to Cairo. Tutankhamun's treasures in the new museum beside the pyramids. The Hanging Church, Abu Serga and the Ben Ezra Synagogue.

  11. Day 11Drive to St Catherine

    Across Sinai to the mountains; night near the monastery.

  12. Day 12Mount Sinai at sunrise · Back to Cairo

    A night climb with a Bedouin guide, then St Catherine's Monastery. Drive back to your hotel in Cairo.
