Giza, Alexandria and Old Cairo, two days in Luxor, then the Red Sea at Hurghada.

1. Day 1Arrival in Cairo+

   Met inside the terminal and driven to your hotel.

2. Day 2Grand Egyptian Museum · Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx · Khan el-Khalili+

   Tutankhamun's treasures in the new museum beside the pyramids. The Great Pyramid, the Valley Temple and the Sphinx. The old bazaar and its cafés.

3. Day 3Drive to Alexandria · Alexandria · Back to Cairo+

   Three hours north to the Mediterranean. The Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa, Pompey's Pillar, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Citadel of Qaitbay. Drive back to your hotel in Cairo.

4. Day 4Coptic Cairo · Islamic Cairo · The Citadel+

   The Hanging Church, Abu Serga and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. The mosques of Sultan Hassan and Al-Rifa'i. Saladin's fortress and the Mosque of Muhammad Ali.

5. Day 5Fly to Luxor · Luxor West Bank+

   An early flight south. The Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon.

6. Day 6Karnak and Luxor Temple+

   The great Hypostyle Hall at Karnak, then Luxor Temple.

7. Day 7Drive to Hurghada+

   Four hours across the desert to the Red Sea.

8. Day 8Free day on the Red Sea+

   Beach, snorkelling or diving, with meals at your hotel.

9. Day 9Fly to Cairo · Departure from Cairo+

   A morning flight to Cairo. Transfer to Cairo airport and help with check-in.
